Shakuhachi Lessons
Shawn has been studying the Shakuhachi for 15 Plus years. Beginning his study around 2003 in Los Angeles. With sensei Kaoru Kakizakai, and he has been traveling back and forth from the United States to Japan to further his study, in the Kinko/yokoyama style. As well he has studied with Tozan teacher Bill Shozan. He also has a passion for making Shakuhachi both jiari and jinashi Shakuhachi. At his Studio and Home in Santa Susana California. Shawn’s students generally come once a week or biweekly , for a one hour lesson, Lessons take place in a nice environment for shakuhachi. A traditional style Tatami and Tokonoma room. With the surrounding Santa Susana mountains, and beautiful Japanese garden and bonsai. Shawn will teach you traditional Honkyoku and Sankyoku shakuhachi. The studying and learning of shakuhachi, is a eye-opening journey That can change your life, it’s mindful relaxing therapeutic path!
Lessons are $25 per one hour lesson
