Traditional Japanese Shakuhachi Restore Process
We buy old Shakuhachi from Japan and restore them to their original glory. Most commonly damage is the blowing edge mouthpiece or Utaguchi. Also Usually they can be cracked as well as the center joint is usually loose.
After repairing those problems, we thoroughly measure the interior bore,test for pitch, balance and sound. If there is nothing wrong, we will leave alone and simply clean the bore and add a new coat of Urushi Lacquer.
